Our Installation Process

Rocky Mountain Warehouse Solutions manages every phase of your racking installation project, from the initial site survey through final sign-off. Here is what to expect:

1. Site Survey: We measure your facility, document floor conditions, ceiling height, column positions, sprinkler locations, and any constraints that affect the layout.
2. Engineering & Permitting: For systems over 8 feet tall, we prepare stamped engineering drawings and submit permit applications to the local jurisdiction. Utah's seismic environment requires site-specific engineering on the Wasatch Front.
3. Anchor Bolt Layout: Uprights are anchored to the concrete slab per the engineer's specifications. We verify slab thickness and condition before drilling.
4. Assembly: Our crews assemble uprights, install beams at specified heights, add wire decking or pallet supports, and install all safety accessories including column guards, row spacers, and end-of-aisle protectors.
5. Load Capacity Labeling: Every bay is labeled with the maximum allowable load per level and per bay, as required by ANSI/RMI MH16.1.
6. Final Inspection: We walk the completed installation with you, verify all components are correctly installed, and provide as-built documentation.

Utah Seismic Requirements

Utah's Wasatch Front sits in one of the most seismically active regions in the western United States. Most warehouse facilities in Salt Lake, Davis, Weber, and Utah counties fall in seismic design categories C or D, which impose specific requirements on racking upright gauge, anchor bolt specifications, and cross-bracing configurations. Rocky Mountain Warehouse Solutions works with licensed structural engineers to ensure every installation meets Utah's seismic requirements.
